Might want to verify that your particular PC's USB physical port is functional - I use a USB Mouse as a test device. Or use Microsoft Update, and look for any USB Hardware updates. But I occasionally had a situation where Xedit refused to launch because it could not detect the GNX4 hardware - despite it being correctly attached. I copied the entire GNX4 XEdit/Driver CD to a new folder on my Hard Drive - just for these emergencies. I power the GNX4 1st, then attach the USB cable to the PC and then power on the PC - (running WinXP). If the Digitech USB driver fails to load properly, I navigate to the folder I created above, and double click on 'usbinstaller.exe' - it has a Digitech graphic icon. - this re-runs the Digitech USB Driver Installer application and will correct the problem.
